My Bio
Hello my name is Billy. I love to make people laugh. I am a magician and comedian by trade, but all jokes aside, my photography interest came by accident...

I was determined to quite smoking my two plus packs of cigarettes a day. On April 16, 2009 I put down my last cigarette. However, I soon realized that I needed to replace it with some sort of positive hobby to keep my hands and my mind occupied. It also didn't help that I was unemployed during that time. Every moment that I got the urge to smoke I would snap a picture instead.

Needless to say that within the first six months I exceeded in shots what I would have actually smoked, had it been cigarettes. I also put a photo video together of my work called: "10,000 To Zero", which can be found on YouTube at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPV9k6… .

The name AmvoyPhotog was derived as I began to try to develop and figure out my style of photography. I often enjoy shooting from a voyeuristic and often lurking ambush-type of scenarios, while also utilizing high and low camera angle perspectives. I am encouraged and inspired to "be different" by the artistic work of past photographers like Diane Arbus, Ralph Eugene Meatyard and modern day greats like Alex Prager and Andrew Goldsworthy, just to name a few.

I love a wide array of shooting, but my favorite is URBEX and architecture. I love the history behind the abandoned buildings that I visit. I enjoy the allure of what may or may not be around the next darkened corner. I also like the fact that when I shoot at these types of places that I feel the emotion behind the lives that were once there.

Photography so far as afforded me to become the creative person I have become. All because I replaced a negativity in my life with some great positive potential in something that I thoroughly love and enjoy.

I hope you will take time to look through my gallery - THANKS!

Well today marks 44 years of my life. I jumped on DA because of all the people I watch here and the great friends I have made here along the way. I love the fact that everyone seems so genuinely real and helpful as well. In my line of work (not my photography end) as an entertainer (magician) my compeers find it easier to play one-up-manship and would rather ridicule than to help each other. I can give that honest assessment after being in magic for over 37 years. So, first a huge THANK YOU DA FRIENDS for your awesome support of our love for photography as an art form! Anyway.... back to my birthday (LOL). Your photos make me smile and this

HELP DA FRIENDS! I went to grab my camera bag tonight and it was soaked. The rain got it. I began pulling out Nikon camera bodies and Nikkor lenses. They have little moisture, but are not dripping wet. Looking at the lenses they are not even fogged, but I am concerned. Help.... what is a good course of action? Thanks so much group. I love you guys!

Hey DA friends! Yes..... I have been missing in action once again. Lot of things happening lately. I have my kiddos (Ryan 15 and Chloie 9) full time now. Even though I have had them pretty much every weekend for the last six year I have them full time now and with school back in session it has been a huge adjustment for both them and me, especially with trying to run three businesses at the same time. In addition to that I have been busy doing high school senior photo shoots as well as traveling the east coast helping a buddy with his illusion show, while I work hard to get back on the road full time myself doing what I love - comedy and magi
